Health & Magicka System
You may have noticed the mention of health, magicka and damage several times throughout this document and even more so if you checked Appendices I and II. However, I don't really use either a Health or a Magicka system. And a Stamina system is definitely out of the question.
Players are quite cabable of determining their character's limits themselves and deciding how to portray their character's health or magicka reserves whenever they need to do so. They also know well enough how much beating their character can take during combat before they are knocked out. If a player needs to actually calculate their character's reserves in either or both of these attributes, they are free to use their own methods.
In those few cases where damage is explicitly mentioned, I do so simply to give an idea how much a special attack (such as a stab from behind or a critical strike) can hurt so that players can be better informed about it when they need to decide how to portray their character, if they find themselves at the receiving end of such a hit.
